How many is a lot for you?
Matt (Skibum) and I were discussing this. I have 2 boxes of a cigar and he feels like thats a lot. I think its average, I smoke one and keep one.
Does it matter what the cigar is? For instance 100 PLPCs is not a lot, but 100 Dunhill Cabinettas is a lot? Is cost a factor? |

Re: How many is a lot for you?
Good question, Bryan.
I think it definitely matters what the cigar is? You PLPC vs. Cabinetta is a good example. Another factor I think is how much a person smokes. Someone who smokes just a few sticks a week will have a different outlook than the guy who smokes a box a week. Finally, I think it depends on the cigar and how much you like it. For you, Cohibas most likely have a higher number. Something you like a bit less will have a smaller number. Just my and worth as much.

Re: How many is a lot for you?
As I am a poor college student, cost is definitely a factor. For me, anything over 25 of one stick is a lot. Unless I'm planning a box split, which would knock me back down to 25 anyway

Hard one, Bryan.
It reminds of the the old ruling by Justice Potter Stewart. "I can't define p-orn is but I know it when I see it". Well, I can't tell you how many is alot but I know it when I see it.

Re: How many is a lot for you?
I would say that cost would be a factor.
You could stock up on some go-to or everyday smokes without spending a lot of cash or even when all the sales were going on. For me it depends on the smoke. I have some certain cigars that I will buy no matter what if I find them. I don't ever plan on selling them but just trying to keep a good stock of them for the long haul. Not sure what I would call a lot? Maybe Eleventy Billion.

I would have to go with more than 100 if you are talking about a go to smoke. If you are talking about a cigar that I smoke once or twice a month I think 25 is plenty.

Re: How many is a lot for you?
Today, I am lucky if I have more than one box of any, primarily due to wanting to try various ones.
At one time, I had about 5 boxes of Sublimes and 6 or so Siglo VI, along with other Cohibas. Man, those were the days indeed (sigh, followed by deeper sigh).

Re: How many is a lot for you?
I don't have more than 25 of anything. Mostly cause I rarely buy boxes, have bought a few. Just don't have the disposable income to purchase a lot, and I don't often smoke more than 2-5 a week anyway.

Same here. If I smoke more than 5-6 a week then i'm either on vacation or some other special occasion.

Re: How many is a lot for you?
Given that I built a collection so that I could have some aged stuff in the coming years I bought lots of stuff I love..........stuff to smoke now and stuff to put aside.
Now I buy less just to put a box or two of this years stuff down to keep the stock rotating over the years. Oh also because I am now not working |

Re: How many is a lot for you?
0. I have no Cabinettas and no Dunhills. I also own no Davidoffs. I think I am officially out of that end of the pool as the supply of said things seems to somehow be increasing instead of decreasing and I worry about spending coin on a cigar that might be on the back side of good.

Re: How many is a lot for you?
I have four things that I have more than four boxes. One is being discontinued and I want to have as many as I can. The others are things I smoke a good many of and want to have at least some that get some age. So I went with more than 100 is a lot.
