Conan or Leno?
Which team are you on? Either way, NBC looks ridiculous over this whole debacle. Conan needed more time IMHO. Conan lost the older audience, but the younger generations love him and would grow old with him if NBC had given him the opportunity. Whether you like him or hate him, I hope we can all agree, "Shame on NBC".

Conan!
Shame on NBC for moving him and his crew out there and within months do this to him. Leno should stick to collecting cars and let Conan get his chance in the spot light IMO. Go Brookline, MA! |

Re: Conan or Leno?
I'd take either one.
What amazes me is the Letterman crap that got old back in the 80's...but is STILL on TV. |

Re: Conan or Leno?
I like Conan's humor more than Jay's. I think they're both fighting for survival and Jay has the upper hand. I hear NMC is playing hardball with Conan and saying if hey doesn't take the 12:05 spot, he can't have a show anywhere for 3 1/2 years. That would suck for him but mostly for his crew.

Some people say Conan's ego is responsible, but I think he's telling the truth when he wants to save the institution that is The Tonight Show. But I will no longer watch it when he leaves. Also, is Jay the real reason behind this? All signs point to yes, but I haven't heard anything official about it being about him. I know he has some bigger role within the ranks of NBC, so I would assume it to be true.

Re: Conan or Leno?
There's some truth to the Johnny reruns! I wish I could see them again, as I was too young to stay up that late when Carson was on.

Not only the late night mess, but NBC has to backfill all that prime time space that they wasted on the suckfest that is Leno's "variety" show.

Re: Conan or Leno?
I really dug Conan on Late Night, but his Tonight Show lost some edge...or something...it's still funny, I just remember watching it and LMAO! I never watched Leno. I caught the earlier show a few times. He seems to have better report with the celebrities.

It might have something to do with his time slot. After midnight he might be able to get away more vulgar words or topics that he can't at his current time slot.

Re: Conan or Leno?
I don't think either of them are particularly funny, I'm betting that this will be the beginning of the ultimate decline and death of the late night talk show. Honestly they're all pretty boring and repetitive. The format was fine when Johnny Carson was hosting because there wasn't much else to compare it to, now almost 2 decades on since he left and the format hasn't really evolved? Meh.
If I'm going to watch late night TV it'll be something that's actually entertaining and somewhat relevant to current events like The Daily Show and The Cobert Report. |
