Photoshop CS2 Question

Any Photoshop CS2 users out there experienced any problems installing with Windows 7? Or is a plot by Adobe to force sales of CS4? I really don't have the $1700 for the CS4. This has got my workflow at a halt.

No I have not, but the upgrade from CS2 to CS4 is not $1700, last I checked it was $199.

Thanks, Bro! Maybe I just need to call Adobe. For some reason I get an error message when the program file is created by the software that there are invalid characters. who knows?

Question is your Windows 7 64bit?

What OS did you have it installed on before?

I had issues installing it on Vista 64bit but I worked it out.

Oh and if you do think about an upgrade... wait a while CS5 is due, as far as I can see, in April 2010.

Yes its 64bit.

What OS did you have it installed on before?

I had issues installing it on Vista 64bit but I worked it out.

Had it on XP. How did you work it out. PM me if you think it will help and you dont mind.

Exactly. Thats what sucks. They are no help for the little man.

Sorry I forgot I didn't post the fix must be the cold weather playing on my mind!

May not fix your issue... as it does sound different than mine... BUT I had to change the install directory from C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe to C:\Progra~2\Adobe

When I did that all was well.

Thanks Buddy! I will try that. The (86) is what was messing mine up.

That did the trick, Craig! Thanks a lot Bro! Just goes to show, when in doubt, come to The Asylum. Now I gotta lotta work to catch up on.

Something ive learned with running 64bit OS's, programs that arent specifically 64bit versions or whatever, install to a generic folder on your C drive. In my case, i even had issues with Adobe CS4 and had to install it into an adobe folder on my root. Works better and also runs a bit faster as the generic folders arent search indexed unless you specifically tell it to, all of hte program files folders are indexed by default however.
