Default Tried a new pumpkin ale...

From Southern Tier, 'Pumking'. This stuff is fantastic. I've tried every pumpkin ale I can find for the last 6 yrs or so. Post Road has been my favorite from day 1, Buffalo Bill tied it a year or two ago... but Pumking is by far my new favorite pumpkin ale. If you haven't tried it yet, go get a bottle!

I didn't like it this year. Had it last year after several other beers, and thought it was good, albeit too sweet so a whole bottle was out of the question. This years bottle tasted too hot, or alcohol tasting. I prefer the less sweet pumpkin ales anyway. Really want to try Weyebacher though.

I did find it sweeter than all the others, and I hate sweet beer (can't stand barley wine for that reason), but I downed the whole bottle in one sitting tonight and loved every drop of it. Different strokes for different folks I guess

I've got a 4-pack of Weyerbacher in the fridge, next to the perennial Post Road. I think I had one last year and wasn't a fan, but I couldn't remember well enough so it got another chance If you're in Harford County in the next week or two let me know and I'll hook you up. Or if you're driving down 95, pull off at exit 77B, take your first left and look for 'Wine World', they've got a ton of that stuff in stock right now.
