Gran Habano 3 Siglos Torpedo
Another stick I got in a "Top Shelf Taster Sampler" from cbid.
Humidor time: 3 weeks Prelight: The corojo wrapper (shade grown, I believe) has a reddish hue, no blemishes or prominent veins. Draw is moderate, tasting of cedar and nuts. The white and gold bands look very classy. Strangely, this stick also sports an identical "Edicion de Aniversario" band as the Padilla Series '68 I smoked yesterday. Burn: The burn on this stick was fine. It got a little uneven right at the very end. Ash was white with only a bit of flaking. Draw was moderate. The burn time was about 90 minutes. Flavor: This cigar was tasty. Cedar and toasted almond were prominent with a hint of sweetness early on (maybe vanilla?). I was expecting a little more spice from a filler consisting of ligeros from three countries. It did kick up a bit in the final third. Summary: This was a tasty smoke. A little more spice would have been good, but the flavors were great.
