Default Ovaltine

My wife went to the grocer the other day, came back, and said "I may have some bad news". They changed the packaging/label, and she was afraid they changed the taste/ingedients too. I ripped open the top, took a smell and was worried, it smelled different. I immediately made myself a glass........ahhhh Same ol' same 'ol. Same great Ovaltine, they had not changed the recipe, to my tastes anyway.

In short I love Ovaltine, and I mean love. Easily a large glass a day, very often more. If they had indeed changed the recipe, I had plans of driving around and buying all the 'old blend' I could find. Like Elaine in that Seinfeld episode with the sponges.

Any fans? I doubt it, very few other adults I know enjoy it. But I cannot get enough.

Also enjoy Ovaltine, find it's a great substitute when I am burned out on caffeine. Anyhow, thought I would mention there are a number of different blends; malt, Chocolate malt, Dark Chocolate, Original, and perhaps couple more. Currently have the chocolate malt, and dark chocolate blend, like them both but definately tell there's a difference.

Chocolate, strawberry, or strawberry-banana? It's been some time since I have tried it, intend comparing ingredients; sweetners, vitamins, etc., and possibly add to shopping list. For change, occasionally put a scoop of Ovaltine in coffee.

Don't get me going on Scotch, single malt, perhaps Glenfiddish, or Belvenie 15 yr., etc., etc., but that's an entirely different thread.

I love the chocolate. I seriously drink one of the big containers every other week!

My dad used to make it for me when I was a kid. Haven't had it in years.

There's a drink in Cuba called Malta that is very reminiscent.
