CI and 5 Vegas
I read that 5 Vegas is exclusive to Cigars International (and affiliates), but now I have seen them being sold at another online shop not affiliated with CI. Whats the policy with cigars that are exclusive. Can anyone with a tocab, license buy and resell or is the online shop breaking some agreement/rule/law?

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
CI does own the name but they also have a wholesale division that sells them to other internet vendors as well as to b&m's.

After I bought a sampler that had the gold and classics I went ahead and bought my very first box of cigars not too long ago. I got the gold robustos and it came with a torpedo sampler of classic and golds. My newb pallet loves them and since I dont have a stock pile I never had a chance to let them rest first. They just keep getting better and better the more they rest, I'm def. gonna get some more so I can really let them chill, hopefully for months. Till then I got some Flor de Olivas that come in tomorrow. What can I say, 5 Vegas Golds and FdO's, not quite what you'd call a collection but I'm loving every minute of it. Anyway, thanks to everyone for putting up such great information and reviews. Smoke Naked

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
It's funny. I dis liked the Vegas 'A' and I tried and really hated the 5 classic,It tasted like dirt and salt to me. Is there any good 5 Vegas out there? So far I hated the ones I smoked.

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
The A's were in the humi for 2+ months and I was told they are better with 6 months on them but I gave them away anyhow to make room for other smoke I had coming. The 5 I got from a trade and have no idea how long he had it.
I will try the gold when I get a chance. |

I had the same experience. I read all these great reviews about the Series A, picked one up in a sampler, smoked it pretty much OTT and was very disappointed. I mentioned it in another thread here and got a suggestion to let it rest for a while.

The boxpressed Apex is the best IMHO!!!
For those who have not, try the 5 Vegas Limitada's from various years, as well as the Shortys!!!

Love the Apex! 2-3 months good, 6+ they are better, although I have had a couple bundles that were great OTT too, so who knows.

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
Haven't had a bad 5 Vegas yet, although I have yet to try the new Cask and the recently released Relic.

Me neither, the Series 'A' is my favorite but also keep a stash of classics, golds, and Miami's around. For the price of these cigars they are a no brainer for me.
I am interested to try the new Relic series.

The Gold is excellent if you like a mild smoke that has some flavor. The Nuggets are the perfect early morning smoke with a cup of coffee. They make great handouts to inexperienced smokers, it won't kill 'em.
The other lines need lots of rest. Don't toss 'em if they've only rested a few months. Most become pretty good.

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
The original cask strength was pretty good. I have a 5'er of the new ones resting. I'll probably wait until spring to give them a try. They were really squishy when they arrived.
I'm interested in how the Relic is going to turn out. Maybe we can get a box split going once they come out. |

Gotta say, I've only tried the Limitadas, and that only from 2006, but they are very tasty. Pulled a couple out last month and they were delicious. Much better than when they went in about 2 years ago.

Re: CI and 5 Vegas
Seems I first saw 5 vegas at a "shmoker's outlet" place 4 yrs ago. I've got 2 cask I'm aging and tried a Relic. Def. needs some time, but has great potential to be amazing.
