What is the meanest thing....
that you ever did to someone you cared about?
With valentines day coming around I was thinking about Jane and my many years together. Never really thought about some of the things I did, however briefly that might have caused her trama. Sunny day 28 years ago. We have a nice picnic and walk out on the end of the pier in our community. Sitting on the rocks... I say... "Honey" She says "yes" Me.. "I dont know how to say this, so I'll just say it" She says "just go ahead" I say "I don't to date you any more" The cruel part was the 15 second pause before I asked her to marry me.

Hopefully she pushed you in the pond/lake/whatever as part of her reply.

Re: What is the meanest thing....
I experienced the other side of the story… My wife was so surprised and happy when I proposed to her that she forgot to answer. I said something like… “I take it that’s a yes?” |

Long, long time ago. Took the wife and kids to the pool. Had a coke, and used it as a spittoon when it was gone. Forgot to tell the wifey there was no coke left....

I read somewhere that a broad range of emotions experienced is very short time frames is good for a womans health. And given the till death do us part thing, we were just thinking long term... .
