Proud/Sad Dad
Took my youngest daughter to the airport today to see her off to Navy boot camp. Proud, you bet; she's following in my Dads, my brother and my footsteps. Sad, more then I ever could have imagined. It feels like I've been punched in the chest all day.
To all you parents who have sent a son or daughter to the Military, I feel your pride and pain. God Bless you all

I can only imagine...
Tore me slap out of the frame just leaving mine at college! I remember that feeling... like having the breath knocked out of you. It gets easier, but you described the bittersweet feeling pretty well... proud and sad.
