RH Help.
Ok I just salt tested my xikar digital hygro for about 24 hours...and it was def off. So I now have it calibrated, and am trying to get my humidity down inside my box. What exactly is the best, and fastest way of getting it down with not doing anything bad to my cigars?

Re: RH Help.
how long should I keep it open for? When I calibrated it earlier it said it was at 83% so I've been keeping the lid open and closing it when it gets down to what it should be and closing it and checking it later. Right now I just have it open.

To answer you question, I would leave it open for a few hours then close it for an hour or two, and repeat until the humidity comes down around 70. Then I would leave it closed without a humidifier until it is in the mid 60's or whatever humidity you are shooting for. |

Re: RH Help.
How do I do a salt test on my digital hygrometers? I've heard of it but never seen a description of the process.

Re: RH Help.
Well today I picked up a Xikar gel humidifier and a bottle of Xikar propylene Glycol Solution. I've started to see a difference compared to the water...or that might be that the weather is almost 100% than what it was yesterday, but my next step are some beads.

Re: RH Help.
Depends how big your box is. If its a desktop the gel is better. Beads are a MUST for cabinets and coolers.
