I voted "other" as I have a Hydra and beads in mine. Holds rock solid at 65%.

I'd go with just the beads unless you happen to have a Hydra available. Use the money you save from not buying the Hydra to buy more smokes for your cabinet...

Al's right on the money.
You can't beat active and passive humidification together for big humis. I try to use beads and a hydra in everything I can. I use real low cfm computer fans to move air and it's easy to keep a rock solid 65%, so long as there's a good seal. ![]()

Cigar Oasis, I like these better than the Hydra only because the CO stays set if you lose power, The Hydra must be reset if you lose power.
I have the Set n Forget, Hydra and CO with KL to balance and lower humidity in the Spring/Summer months, this set up has work flawlessly for years. I may be the only person who has had no luck with beads in my cabinets or coolers, imho they are not user friendly. A search of any cigar forum can dig up countless "I can't get my beads to work" posts, most in Cabinets, coolers or wine coolers. They seem to be ok for desktops which is where my remaining beads are being used. |
