Good question. Most shops have their own guide lines on what they want and expect. Speaking only for myself I would pick up a couple of stick from them, but have what I want to smoke with me. Most (not all) B&M's are notorious for being over humidified because of the constant going in and out of the customers, and the doors opening and closing, new stock just have come in,....etc.
So I would purchase and let them know what I was doing and why as nicely as possible---and get there approval. I want the B&M I go to; to stay in business and be around in the future.
