I do amateur radio emergency response and am on our local list as willing to be deployed just about anywhere in the world if we get asked. I have several months worth of food, water, shelter, clothes, gas for the portable generator, portable radios capable of world-wide communications, antennas, cigars and many other things.

Good point, but I think the title 'survivalist' applies however you choose to apply it.
I think it applies to my situation as I try to be self reliant and prepared for natural or man made disasters through a combination of equipment, resources and more importantly, training.
