Default Re: Green Bean sources

I've bought roasted beans from Uncle Norm, but haven't yet tried the green beans.

I am a big fan of his Malabar Gold and am always tempted to try some of the beans from the "indulge" section.

I noticed a great thing about green beans; you can have a half dozen varieties around and not worry about freshness and get to try a lot of different blends in a week's time by roasting small batches.

I am really enjoying this aspect of the hobby and now realize the 20 pounds I rolled my eyes at earlier is not too far off from what I am currently stocking in various beans.

Currently, I have really been ordering consistently from CCM coffee in Tampa, as suggested here. and have been very satisfied by price, selection, and quality.

The only thing about them is you click and order, and there are not many decriptions of the bean or roast suggestions, like some other suppliers, which leads me to believe most of their customers know what they want and how to roast what they want, but what the hell do I know????

I find myself roasting until I like the look and smell, taking notes, posting the notes on the container, and adjusting from there until I find what I like. Not very scientific, but works so far.

I downloaded a stop watch app for my iPhone and use that instead of the timer on the Freshroast and was thinking a roast app would be a great idea for some technologically inclined individual, which takes me out of the equation.
