Tom thats exactly my point through all of this. Its preseason and teams dont want star players hurt, but laying a hit like that in preseason is just ? Both players are not trying to earn a spot. He saw him and took several steps to lay the hit. He lined him up and risked severe injury in the preseason.

If he is such a bad ass he will lay guys out in the pre season cause it matters so much, then stand up and be ready.
I find a flaw in anyones logic who will argue the hit was necessary and good, but then will argue the next game where he will have to pay for such a relevant and necessary hit he should sit out. Why? cause he may get hurt in a preseason game and be lost for the season? Yeah cause then he would have gotten hurt in a meaningless preseason game.

All you who said the hit was relevant and the preseason game mattered and it was good and right. If the Flames sit/hide Phanuef and dont let him answer up is that chicken shiet? If not how come?
