Sorry I didn't state clearly why I don't think he deserves the C. He didn't earn the C initially when it was given to him. He didn't put in the work to get there and wasn't a rallying point for his team. It was just given to him as the promise of a "golden boy" loomed on the Pens horizon. IMO there were others on the team at the time that deserved that C
