I have to vouch for the Vista...
I have a 4GB Gateway laptop running the 64-bit Vista, I usually just hibernate it and it starts up in 15 seconds or so, and runs multiple pages very quickly and easily. But I don't use it for games so it's untested there.
Plus, I got it for a good deal because the Circuit City salesguy tried to bait n' switch me and rip me off $200. Had to talk to three managers but walked out with it for a decent price. They went out of business didn't they? That's karma or something.
