Ran down to the city to pick up a couple bottles I had long ago paid for. A different Tumbling Dice Heavy Rye SiB store pick and a Old Haymarket 7+ year SiB, Both in excess of 117 proof. The TD is 4+ year MGP, and the OH is Heaven Hill.
Then the story got good. Stopped in a corner convenience store heading back to the highway to go home. They probably had 20 total bottles of hard liquor in the place, all behind the secure counter. And one was a Booker's Tommy's batch (17-01). You don't find old Booker's like that very often, right?
Wrong. Today I stopped at some dump liquor store on the way home from an appointment, and found a 18-02 (Backyard BBQ).
Being that I'm not going bourbon hunting tomorrow, guess the hat trick ain't coming.
The KC is a 9 year pick from the Windy City Smokeout in 2018, and was a bargain.
