BLUF: Why are ARs not selling super cheap?

Wondering if someone could shed some light on a question I have: It seems to me that over the last couple years (especially in the last year) there have been tons of people "fear buying" ARs because they were worried about an assault weapons ban (or they thought they could sell them for a hefty profit after the ban). Since it's now apparent there won't be one, my assumption was that there'd be a ton of people with too many ARs that now need to part with them. I also thought that people like me who hedged their bets on a ban not going into place would come out on top. With high supply and low demand, I would think there'd be a ton of ARs on say, gunbroker for cheap. I've looked, and it seems like there are just a bunch of listings for pre owned ARs at retail pricing with no bids. Are we just at the point were people haven't given in to reality yet and listed them low? Am I not looking in the right place? Any insight would be great!
