In college I lived with a very poor guy that only had one pair of shoes (but like us all at the time always had money for beer) and to mess with him on nights he got hammered and had 8am class I'd put his shoes in the freezer. Especially hilarious in the dead of MN winter.
My Grandfather towards the end would insist on when we would go get him groceries or toiletries weekly like Mach 3 razor blades or bananas to only by one single blade or banana as he would not be around long enough to use 3 and did not want to waste them lol. And if he wanted an alcoholic beverage it had to be in the hotel mini-bar type bottles for the same reason.
He was hilarious at family dinners like Xmas and Thanksgiving as he was virtually deaf, had hearing aids but refused to use them and would sitting at the dining room table and rip ass as he thought no one could hear him lmao. We messed with him by sending subliminal messages under our breath like "Grandpa you should spoil yourself and buy a Corvette or a 30' boat to enjoy" he eventually caught on we were giving him crap related to the "I'm not going to be around long" as we wanted to inherit it. Ahh Gramps I miss ya!
