I grew up when a gym was weights, a heavy bag and a drinking fountain, and the fountain didn't work 1/2 the time. We wore funny looking baggy pants and lifted Volkswagons, and we liked it that way. AC/DC and other 3 chord hard rock blasted through the speakers, and after the workout we would go to Burger King and have 4 bacon doublecheeseburgers each. I kinda miss those days...I definitely miss that metabolism.

There's no energy in the weight area in gyms now. No chalk in the air or plates clanking. Seeing people go for max and just show some enthusiasm before their set. Actually, I have fallen out of favor of weightlifting as it is dull at the gym. It's hard to get excited when no one else is.
Pilates is most of gym time and a good use of it.
