As a Yankees fan who absolutely hates any Boston team, I still don't think I would refer to them as MF Boston teams.
As far as his pay goes, paying him more than the entire Astros is small change for the Yankees given their revenue. If he doesn't perform, criticism warranted. If he is injured, doo doo happens and no one has a crystal ball when they sign a player.
