			I have noticed this on occasion but for me it's purely random.  However I have had it happen more when using a punch cutter.  My reasoning for this is that only the middle of the cap gets punched out leaving a curved edge which the smoke bunches up on and produces more tar.  Not sure if this is a correct theory but it seems possible.  Also I have noticed that if you get a lot of saliva on the cigar it tends to get tarry.
