As for uncomfortable? Wow! I liked it because it was more comfortable than my S&W.

The rtf's were considered gen 3, some called them gen 3.5??! The gen 4 has adjustable back straps, ambidextrous mag release, a one peace captive recoil guide rods (just lie the G26&27) and a different grip texture (not the same as the rtf)and they all come with 3 mags. The dead give away that you have a rtf is the crescent shaped slide serrations.
All my glocks are gen 3, I don't care for or need the adjustable back strap which is kind of cheesy. I think glock should have made the adjustable back straps that they slide in rather then fit over top of the back strap. As a right handed shooter I will also never reverse by mag release, they have the frame hogged out on both sides to accommodate this feature!!(yuk)
In 2009 my gun shop ordered me new gen 3 G22 and what came in was the rtf, I trade it before the month was over cause the texture on the grips was too much and went thru me like nails on a chalk board.
At end of the day If I had to rely on modern pistols any glock would be my first choice, enjoy.
