Seriously, from years of attending matches and other recreational shooting on road trips, that's been my experience. Heck it's even been known to happen closer to home. But never while at a store/range that had the exact part needed in stock.

Thats the beauty of my GLOCKS. Parts are ample, simple to replace, interchangeable between models.
Quite easy for me to have a small kit on stand by and know that I will have anything I need to fix it. Only tool needed is a small punch.
The slide or frame itself would literally have to break before I'm not able to fix it.
There is only a handful of parts you would even need to carry for a glock really.
