You're really in pretty good shape with anything BUT an Acer. They're the 2010's eMachine. They're super inexpensive and built that way. As a result, they don't last very long.
As Bill said, a BSOD does not mean it's trash. It likely means the hard drive puked.
Bill has some damn fine machines for sale, you should pm him. Maybe he'd go through the trouble to send one overseas.
