I have a terrible confession to make.
I thought this was going to be the worst playoff game ever played. I thought it would go to OT, but it'd be a 3-3 tie. I figured it would be either a terrible fumble or INT by Tebow, or Ben throwing a pick while he was distracted by his leg falling off.
I was wrong on all counts.
Somehow, some way, Tim Tebow learned how to throw a football. The Broncos failed to self-destruct in the 2nd quarter. Ben Roethlisberger proved he was the toughest SOB playing QB in the league, and brought the Steelers back from the brink of elimination. And then, the miracle happened. The prettiest spiral I have ever seen Tebow throw caught by Demaryus Thomas, then run for an 80 yard touchdown.
Instead of the worst playoff game ever, it may have been one of the best its been my privilege to watch. Maybe not as good as SB XXXII, but easily as good as the last Broncos' playoff win over the Pats.
Congratulations to the Steelers and their fans on their great season. Not every team can come back to force overtime after being down like that in the playoffs, and they certainly played like champions.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a cigar to smoke.
