Mississippi Valley State 90 - Tennessee State 89 (2OT) = Aside from being an all-out dogfight start to finish, and taking an extra 10 minutes to finally decide by one stinkin' point, the Delta Devils get their first victory of the season and survive to advance in the Las Vegas Invitational . . . the same tourney my Heels help kick off tonight in the nightcap with the Gamecocks. This is the same Delta Devils UNC spanked by 26 once they finally got back to the Dean Dome. Can you say "rematch"? Maybe you can, but I can't. First, I need my Heels to take them one at a time, thank you very much. And second, I'm far from certain that MVS can survive long enough to make that game, unless maybe they are paired up next. Either way, with this victory maybe it will allow the vaunted RPI Index to give them some credit . . . which may move UNC up from 94th in the nation, by that computer's count.
There's not a lot happening early tomorrow, and much of the action is of the "TBA" variety, awaiting the results of tourneys and invitationals so common this time of year. So unless somebody posts some comment for my reply, that should be it for me today. In either case, enjoy.
