You could always mention that she is just the gf and to become the Wife that she will prove her devotion to you by letting you have your own area! I seriously told my Wife something like this before we got married, but it went more like this- "if it comes down to you or my guns, you will be gone!" I was serious and we are married (getting ready to go on 11 years now) And before we bought the house we lived in a 5th wheel (we travled the country for work) She let me get a large gazebo with a large patio heater "The smoke dome"

Awesome man, so proud of ya coy, that room turned out way being my wildest expectations, simply GORGEOUS!
The old smoke dome will be missed, but im sure it will continue to see some action
