For you youngsters out there, take note that Gunsmoke ran from 1955 to 1975, and still holds the record for the number of original domestic episodes aired, at 635. Marshall Dillon, Chester, Doc Adams, Miss Kitty, and Festus all entered the American consciousness, and remain so to this day.
