Well, here's perhaps a bigger difference between the two leagues than the DH one. In the AL it is considered a quality start if the pitcher gives you 6 good innings before the game is put into the hands of the bullpen. In the NL they seem to expect more innings out of the starter . . . which may work just fine within the league, what with the normally lighter hitting, but can bite you during interleague play.
Of course, to have success by turning games over to the bullpen to close, one first need have a bullpen.
