The problem is, Charles R. Cross (who's a hack by the way), and apparently you, are too dense to get what was going on. The, "grunge" scene was everything 80s, "glam" rock wasn't (which was an overbaked version of late 70s arena rock). It walked up, kicked it in the balls, and flipped it the bird.

How does that even remotely judge what they did when they were together making albums? Those Beatles, they must suck because their last studio album was released in 1970 (after they broke up) and all four members were still alive a decade after. Even up until late 2001 three of the four were still alive and active in the music industry. How about Led Zeppelin? They must suck too, since they last released a studio album 31 years ago and three of the original members are
still alive and involved in the music industry.
