I've had very good luck gifting complete nOoBs with Padron 2K's. A very decent cigar, won't break the bank, and I won't choke them if they ash it 1/3 of the way in.....
Any experienced smokers get asked what they like, and anyone that shows up at my house gets to smoke anything I have. Always have, always will. Unless they show up every day....
