Yes indeed, Keith, this should be a good one, and maybe even the best one of the night. Me, I'd have to give the Wildcats a slight edge over your Owls, as I think both their personnel and their coach is a bit better. But as you well know, any Big 5 matchup can be a total war.
Some other action has already concluded today. Charlotte edged Mercer 64-63, and Virginia Tech had more trouble with South Carolina Upstate than it probably should have, only pushing it out late for a 64-53 win. And at last check, with 5 minutes to go, Belmont was up over Miami OH by 7. To follow we will have these:
# 10 Missouri vs. ODU = I can see this one being really close, and it may depend on who can execute in the last few minutes.
# 16 BYU vs. Buffalo = However, this one should not be close at all. I don't have great faith in BYU, but I have none at all for Buffalo.
# 19 UCF vs. Princeton = Seems to me the Tigers have been playing better, and they certainly have faced enough quality opposition to be ready for this game. As for UCF, I am interested to see if that OTHER MJ, Marcus Jordan, can continue to do his daddy proud. Might be a decent contest.
# 21 Memphis vs. Lipscomb = And this might be more decent than you might think. The Tigers have repeatedly shown their youth, and Lipscomb may not have the name, but they are no easy out either.
VCU vs. New Hampshire = While I want to think VCU should own this one, I just have this feeling NH will hang real tough.
Iowa State vs. Virginia = And though neither of these two are the class of their respective conferences, they are both at least decent, and are fairly evenly matched. Should be fun.
Arizona vs. Oregon = I realize the desert Wildcats are not totally back, but I also realize the Ducks suck. This could get real ugly, real early.
Arizona State vs. Oregon State = But here we have two closer squads, so we could have some entertainment before it's over.
I could pick many others, yet as they are in the "who cares?" category (South Dakota State vs. Mo. KC? Wisc. GB vs. Detroit?) I'll just leave you with . . . enjoy.
