I have to agree with you. My oldest son is 34 and all three of the others have had Legos to play with while they were growing up. What's funny is anytime the Lego buckets get pulled out of the closet, all 4 of them start building things.

Over 30 some-years, we've collected over 15 gallons worth of Lego pieces, not counting bases, ship hulls and assorted set parts. I expect that my Grandson will be playing with these as soon as he's old enough to not swallow them.
