Re: What is your favorite Scotch Whisky

The McClelland's is good for what it is, but keep in mind that it is a younger version of other Bowmore owned whiskeys. I believe they're all five years old, aside from the Speyside 12. Given the age...

Re: Valleys of Neptune

Yeah, I got it last night. I've only listened to it once through, but I like what I hear.

Re: Augusto Reyes Nativo

Sounds like they're not worth it, especially when th Nestor Mirandas can be had for so cheap. Thanks.

Augusto Reyes Nativo

Are these good? Like a lot of folks, I've been on a lancero kick recently and CI has these for the right price. Couldn't find many opinions on 'em.

Re: Which Pepin now?

The old henry maduro was the one that jumped into my head first. They're cheap too.

Re: Can you smoke 9 year old Montecristo Cigars

Well you could, but it probably wouldn't be all that pleasing. Unless you live in a rain forest, they're most likely entirely dried out. Cigars need an environment kept steadily in a range from...

Re: Thoughts on cigars.

It seems to me that it would be easy to put a bunch of random leaves together and make a cigar that tastes different to the next guys. However, the art of blending, and the skill of talented blenders...

Re: ABT Recipe (BACON!)

Could these be done in an oven, or do you need a smoker?

Re: Best premium beginners cigar

If you're looking for a special smoke, I would suggest the AVO 787 perfecto if you can get your hands on one. Its flavorful with coffee and toasted notes but extremely smooth and very easy to handle.

Re: Honduran Tobacco

Punch Gran Puros are fantastic. I also quite like HdM Excallibur maduros, which are at least partly honduran.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

The Giants have been looking pretty good as of the past few games. They certainly didn't make the Phillies look too good, well aside from the game that Lee pitched. It will be interesting to see what...

Re: CAO Traviata

Yeah, I suppose everyone's tastes vary, but in all the blind taste tests I've seen its the cigar that most consistently gets misidentified as being of Cuban origin.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

A little late because I was away this weekend, but I have to say that Cliff Lee is an animal. If that first start was a sign of things to come, I think I might be in love. Shame the rest of the team...

Re: CAO Traviata

Pepin uses Ecuadorian wrappers in a few of his blends including Cubao made for 601 which is a Ecuadorian Oscuro and the Cabaiguan made for Pete Johnson which is Connecticut seed grown in Ecuador....

Re: CAO Traviata

Yeah but so many other manufacturers do that to. I mean, I would think it fair to say that Pepin does it with a large portion of his cigars and he uses Ecuadorian tobacco as well as...

Re: CAO Traviata

Tell me about it, Robusto's are fine, but any cigar can be a whole different experience in a smaller rg and I'd much prefer the option.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

Yeah I know, but I think it would be better than keeping Happ and Drabek. Happ is good, but its unlikely that he'll develop into a number one guy, teams are going to start hitting him one they see...

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*

Now if Amaro will toss Happ, Drabek, and Brown to the Jays for Doc we can go ahead and win back-to-back titles.

Re: Disc Golf

Played 36 holes today. I also picked up a Champion Firebird distance driver and I'm really digging it for overhand shots. I threw my best round today throwing the firebird overhand for pretty much...
