Re: First Firearm Thread.

Different application. Backpacking carry gun. .357 minimum.

My carry gun is a G19.

We're talking lightweight because ounces matter on the trail. Chest holster, slightly exposed and revolver...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I won't argue the revolver is the premier choice for this application (which is why I'm hunting for one), but all I was getting at is if weight was a wash between an auto and a revolver, I'll go with...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

My only logic is if we're talking 26 to 30 ounces, I'd just rather go with a G29 which preserves my muscle memory comparable to a G19. Which a Glock isn't going have an issue with dirt, dust, grime...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Few criteria. No taurus. No ruger. Must be less than 20 ounces. 357 minimum. Not ultra snubnose. Black or blue preferred. It will be mostly concealed.

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Let's talk handguns suitable for backpacking. I was thinking a s&w j frame .357 but the ultra snub nose concerns me. I'd like at least 2.5".

reccomendations?

Re: First Firearm Thread.

(or cheap ammo*) :D

If you're gonna go the unsupported route, then go Glock 29. Skip all the pansy stuff and go for gold. 10 rounds of 10mm = pure awesome.

Only if you like to blow up your hands :D

Unsupported chamber + .40 = F that.

Glock 19 is where it's at... :D

Re: Any computer experts?

Most important component in the entire system is the power supply. Do not skimp on the power supply. And don't assume one that comes with a case is a decent one either.

Take that from a person who...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

I'll check into it. I wasn't aware there was hardware limitations other than the Pearl (which... screen is too dang small anyway). If the API's I need run on 4.5, then I don't see why I can't deliver...

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Avoid anything with the name Ruger on it... period.

Not based on quality, but principle.

His version is so outdated already :D I'm already parsing XML from the web server. His can't do that yet.

A lot of the work is getting the infrastructure set up and the databases designed as well...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

Thanks for the feedback on the site :)

Once I get some time frames in mind, I'll close this thread and make a development thread to highlight the beta process and eventually the release.

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

Much appreciated :)

Honestly that alleviates a lot of worry for me, as I didn't want to offend, but I knew the platform desperately needed something. Luckily Android is Java as well, so it's an...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

Just to add, I'm co-developing an app for the Android OS 2.2 (due to requests) as well that will be nearly identical to the BB app. They'll use the same online database, so if you were to switch...

So here's the rundown so far. At least what I'm aiming for. Minor details might change but for the most part, this has been my plan and will continue to be, if not all up front then in subsequent...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

I changed a few things around from my initial concept based on a couple conversations I've had and pending some trials with the Droid SDK, I'll be entertaining the idea.

The way the program will...

Re: Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

Not switching for a while. Sorry buddy.

I can pick up a new language/dev platform in about 1 to 3 days, so it isn't much of an issue, I just have nothing to test it on as I develop.

That and...

Any interest in a BlackBerry Cigar application?

I'm currently playing with the BlackBerry Java SDK and was wondering if there was any interest in an application for it.

Obviously there is the iPhone counterpart being developed here, and I hope...

Re: Gauging interest for MW2 tourny for PS3

Higher price + less original content = I keep my money.

This ranks right up there with selling me the DLC on the disc, then charging me for a key to unlock it.

But either way, I'm gonna have...
