Re: I don't get Don Pepin Garcia
I feel you, I really liked the first DPG I had, a Blue, and thought he was a gift from God, but as I've sampled a wider variety of his cigars I've found that not all Pepins are created equal. I love...

Re: Got robbed at the shop today
That sucks man! I used to manage the music/dvd department at a Barnes and Noble and we had a regular shoplifter that stole $5000+ worth over about a year. Every time I took a vacation he'd see it...

Re: Are cuban cigars really the best?
I think the split is between whether you like medium bodied, spicy cigars in a small ring gauge, or thicker, more heavy bodied maduros. Lovers of the former tend to prefer CCs, lovers of the latter...

Favorite Flavor?
I thought it would be interesting to hear what flavors other people look for in the cigars they smoke, and what cigar exemplifies that for them. I for one, am addicted to that sweet tingling in the...

Re: Cigar with my Grandpa
Nice! My grandfather got me into smoking cigars and I still get to share a smoke with him every month or so. It puts him in a philosophical mood and I get to hear all sort of wierd stories about...

Re: Odd Names You've Encountered
I met some D-bag at a party once who apparently had some kind of existential crisis in his twenties and legally changed his name to Just A Name.
:tf
As for tacky names that people were given at...

Re: Need a newb that writes reviews...
I fit most of that (~100 posts, 2 trader feed backs, have done several reviews). I've been smoking for 2 years and am always open to new smokes. I was part of Ted's Blind Taste Test Review. Let me...

Re: absinthe advice
The thujone (psychoactive chemical in grand wormwood) levels in most absinthes are controlled even in Europe, so in most cases the absinthe you are drinking is not as strong as the older stuff. The...

Re: Advice is always welcome with me!
A few tips for the newb:
* Read the Faqs on setting up a humidor, seasoning, humidification on this and other sites, get at least a 100 count, better to get a 300+. Trust me, you will use up all...

Re: New Project Humi
Great idea. I can't wait to see the end product! Now, if you could just figure out a way to set that clock faster, so that they'll age quicker... some kind of humidor/time machine?

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check it out. I don't make it all the way up to North County very often, but it sounds like a field trip is in order! :D

My personal opinion of the Partagas Black is that they are dog rockets. I've never had a plugged one, but the 3 I've tried have all had extremely firm draws. They also tasted like sour leather and...

Counterfeit Swishers and Black and Mild's
I find it pretty hilarious that someone actually bothered to counterfeit Swisher Sweets and Black and Milds. I didn't think that cigars got any worse than that, but apparently the "Dank" from India...
