Re: Holts Tatuaje HCS

Yeah, the Meat Locker will be for Gloucester St. in Boston and it will be a sampler, so to speak. I don't believe these are going to be a regular release but will include the 'Chop, the Tenderloin,...

Re: Holts Tatuaje HCS

I hear where you're coming from but I tend to think Pete's approach to these kind of things is the polar opposite of Rocky Patel's. When Pete does a single-store LE, it seems like it really is a...

Re: Holts Tatuaje HCS

They're OK but not great. I tried each size and they start out very full-bodied but morph into a ho-hum stick as the smoke progresses, IMO. I would recommend you try some singles or a 5'er so that...

Re: Shedding some light on split Tatuaje wrappers

Thanks for the link. I'd seen this recommended in the past and not just for Tats. One of the first things that stands out to me is the article is several years old. I believe Pete has said that...

Re: What cigar recently surprised you?

Gran Habano Azteca. These things are killer.

Re: Little Havana Overrun III torpedo

Nice review, as always. Are these long-filler or a mixed/sandwich style?

Re: NFL's new safety policy

This week's development is just a continuation of the "*****fication" of the game, IMO. A couple of years ago, when Hines Ward broke the jaw of that Bengals LB on a perfectly legal, peel back-type...

Re: Tatuaje Black

Where does the Black Label Toro that was part of the first CRA Sampler fit in? Is this another variation on OR Black Label or just a unique size?

It'd be nice to see the Black Label expanded and...

Re: Nestor Miranda Art Deco

Have these been officially released? I've been eager to try these but have not been able to find any.

If anyone can provide some leads on where I can pick some of these up, it would be...

Re: Preferred resale type?

I guess, for me, it's a personal hang-up. Not sure I can explain "why" past that, it's just what I prefer.

Re: Preferred resale type?

I voted for "Box still sealed" but a lot depends on what the specific smoke is. If it's a smoke that was released a couple of years ago, I'll still consider buying a box if it is opened and the seal...

Re: Original House Blends vs Current Cigar Marketing

Well, I'm not sure these would qualify but I would definitely recommend the House Blends that Pepin does for Cigar King/Phatash. (These are B&M's in the Phoenix, AZ area and the owner became tight...

Re: Alec Bradley Cigars

Anyone know anything about his new New York-only cigar, the Empire State edition (or something like that)? I just saw that this will be released on Oct. 1 to NY retailers. I guess this was made out...

Re: Disaster in progress...

I still think Jonathan should do a Liga Privada EGG as a marketing gimmick, of course.

(Seriously, this would make a great event cigar.)

Re: 601 Blue reblend?

The Red is getting tweaked slightly. I believe they are going to try and make it just a little more full-bodied.

Just as important, their other brands (especially the Cubao) will remain...

Re: Quick Question on La Riqueza LE's.

This seems plausible - thanks. I know it's splitting hairs but I noticed the dimensions for these two sticks are very slightly different: D'Clouet 16 - 7 x 47, LA 10 - 7 1/8 x 48. Is the LA 10 an...

Quick Question on La Riqueza LE's.

What are the differences between the D'Clouet 16 and the LA 10?

I've recently seen both of these vitolas available but haven't been able to get much more information on them.

Thanks in advance...

Re: black cat cigars and DPG

I think this is due to the owners (still) sour grapes. At this point, I don't think it hurts Pepin since these boxes were bought and paid for a while ago. I'd be shocked if they were counterfeit. ...

Re: Recommend me some long smoke

Nestor Miranda Danno. With minimal effort, that stick should last you the whole game, including half-time. Seriously.

I might also consider the Tatuaje Reserva SW, mainly because it's a personal...

Re: Cigars in Music Videos

The one music video I always remember a cigar in was Metallica's cover of "Whiskey In The Jar". Kirk Hammett puffed on one for the entire thing, or at least the parts that showed the band.

Re: More new Tats (House Blends).

Pete chimed in on these and, apparently, these have a Verocu-type blend and a similarly colored wrapper to the Havana VI. These come box-pressed and the production on the OR is fairly good ~ 500...

Re: More new Tats (House Blends).

Be easy, guys. The HCS sticks are pretty reasonable - $8.00 and under.

Not sure about the M-80 yet. Probably won't know until next year some time.

More new Tats (House Blends).

I know we just got a lot more new Tats a couple of weeks ago at IPCPR but here are a couple of other things Pete has on the way:

First is a House Blend for Holts called the "Holts Cabinet...

Re: New Cigar from AJ Fernandez - San Lotano (Press Release)

Don't a lot of "exclusive" cigars start out as B&M only but end up being available on-line? In addition, don't a lot of B&M's have an on-line presence these days?

Just curious on this but it does...

Re: Whats your favorite DPG stick?

El Centurion (especially the Emperadores) and Habana Leon (any size).

Habana Leon may be Pepin's BADDEST blend ever, Tats included. They pack a wallop with all of that ligero but are very...
