Re: DealExtreme Lighters

I feel your pain. FWIW, fill it with any generic fuel available, they will work, if not as efficiently. They have good size tanks and I can't imagine them lasting for just 5 cigars. Wish we could...

Re: DealExtreme Lighters

Vector is fine. 2 large cans from CI for $12 and free shipping. Will last you a long time.

Fill as any other lighter.

Re: DealExtreme Lighters

Had same happen with one of mine 2 weeks ago (a triple torch).

Comparing latest batches (this year) and those from years past the new ones seem to be made from thinner (and much lower quality)...

Re: AJ Fernandez blends

Have you tried Morro Castle? Sumatra wrapper, not "in your face" strength, and way more interesting than most others, IMO.

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread

Go to better kitchen supply stores, of chef supply (whatever they are called in your area) and buy Japanese water stones, they are not that expensive and work like a charm. Sushi chefs use them and I...

Re: Sam Leccia's Debut on hold

Doesn't work like that in real world, bad example. Can you cite one such case?

Look up wine industry non-competes. So far, ALL OF THEM WERE and ARE ENFORCEABLE. In addition, I have yet to meet one...

Re: Sam Leccia's Debut on hold

Non-compete is ALWAYS signed by BOTH parties. Since Leccia had no beef with the duration of the clause when he WILLINGLY signed it I can't imagine a judge now vacating it. If he signed the agreement...

Re: Need Help With Some Gifted Wine

You mean lack of fruit at mid-palate and mushroomy finish? :-) I've had a couple of older CA Pinots that were incredible, but in general, they are far and few in-between, almost non-existant. Back in...

Re: Need Help With Some Gifted Wine

Poet,

Actually, whites age WAAAAAY better than reds, as a RULE. As in Champagne, Vouvray, Riesling, sweet whites (Sauterne anyone?), Quarts de Chaume and others.

That said, I'd be curious...

Please remind me, did I miss your illuminating wine related posts elsewhere?

As opposed to a bunch of mine, discussing and recommending wines AT ALL PRICE POINTS, in a number of threads. So, as...

I have been looking at the new line since its release and so far this is the first review I've come across (on CA). That said, and as much as it is appreciated, I am still trying to understand...

Re: Budget wine thread

So, how many in the thread smoke bundled (under $20 per 20) cigars as their mainstays?

Re: Tasting spirits - the influence of the glass

Nosing (smell) is responsible for roughly 80% of any drink's perception, palate impression makes up the other 20%. Same drink in different glass will "taste" different unless you're doing shots :-) ...

Re: The Wine Thread

Because all the "professional experts" out there tell people Cal Pinot doesn't age, never mind that very few of them even drink Cal Pinot to begin with. I've had some pretty old bottles, like you...
