Re: Sushi
If you're ever in Indy, I've got the perfect all you can eat sushi place for $21.99/person. I may just have to venture over there in a couple of days.

Re: I have questions?
I beleive you want to wait at least 24 hours after roasting prior to grinding as I believe the beans are leaving off CO2 (which I've also read to leave the lid cracked after roasting).
From many...

Re: Grinder question
Not necessarily. I've got a burr grinder (not a cheap one mind you but the sub $350-500 it takes to hit get the better grinders) that for a course grind would put out so much of a powder that it...

Re: Dollar Shave Club
I signed up with DSC for the 6 blades. Handle and blades are exact same thing as the Pace 6. I figured it up and seems to me that buying 48 blades at once would save me almost $1/blade.

Re: Getting started Roasting
If you drink much coffee at all, I'll give it a couple of months before you're looking to expand your batch sizes. The Behmor 1600 drum roaster allows you to do a pound (if going for a lighter roast...

I use a honey badger and like to lay down outside the castle wall looking down the long row. I have 2 ea of the motion sensors and IED's and will place them at the bottom of the steps to kill/warn...

I signed up and then was told the same blades can be had cheaper. If you want to save a few bucks over DSC, you can get the exact same blades here for less: http://www.dorcousa.com/
They often...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I decided to crack it open when I got home from work this morning.
I've probably only sampled maybe 10 different bourbons and been stockpiling bourbon for the day I do start to develop a much...

Vinturi for booze?
I've known about using a vinturi for wine, but never heard of using them for hard liquor. Reviews sound good on them. Will it make my bourbon or tequila that much better?

Re: What's in your smoker?
I'm going to take my first stab at bacon-2 pork bellies and 2 jowls in the brine today. Can't wait to see the finished product, so it's going to be a hard 3 weeks.

Re: What are you roasting today?
I always roast 12 oz at a time and set for 1# and add the extra time up front. Unless the temp in my garage is rather cool, I never get to that 1:00 mark swearing whether I'm going to hit 2nd crack.

Re: What are you roasting today?
I always find myself roasting just into 2nd crack. Maybe I'll come up just a bit short of 2nd crack when I roast some next week.

That's pretty much a negative. With the exception of finding a B&M or a cigar bar, you're pretty well hosed unless you are a member of a private club somewhere that chooses to allow it. There are...

The GCBC is hazardous to my wallet
I've found myself hoarding green coffee lately. Ethiopians are a big weakness. I'm gonna have to start drinking coffee a lot more just to keep up as I scored another 25# this morning.

I saw a headline that it cost $2M to make. I hope that included salaries to all the "talent" cast in the movie.
