Re: opinion please

Or better yet, if you can find em, any of the Angel's Share. :dr :dr :dr I normally can't place specific flavors in a cigar(just use general terms like earthy, spicy, etc) but I swear they taste like...

Re: What's your preference?

Alas, I defer to Todd, he's vastly more knowledgeable than I on the subject. Though I thought Englishes were allowed a topnote, just not multiple. Something about tobacco blenders adding too many...

Re: What's your preference?

Balkans are a type of Latakia/English blend. I'm no longer a fan of using "English" to describe Latakia blends after reading up on the history of how the term came about(a true English does not have...

Re: What's your preference?

A bit of everything, though I'm not big on Balkans or Aromatics. VaPers are my go-to.

Re: Esoterica Blends... Where are they???

Penzance is among my favorite Latakia blends. Suuuuper sweet and not super heavy in the Latakia. Dorchester is one of my favorite VaPers, very interesting profile I can only describe as "rustic." On...

Re: My Father La Antiguedad

To be honest, I wasn't impressed at all. It was boring and spicy for the sake of strength, it went over that line from spicy to harsh. :2

Re: What was your first?

A Hemingway Classic. 4 years later I still blame(read: thank) George for getting me started on this wild ride. He even got me to appreciate Padrons with my third ever cigar the bastid :r

Re: Mac and DaBear's LFD NAS vs. LFD Cheroot/Icepick Review

The regular Cheroots, yes. We don't carry the NAS. At least not yet(they hit stores next month IIRC for the regular release)

Re: Mac and DaBear's LFD NAS vs. LFD Cheroot/Icepick Review

And now for my overall comparison:

While the two sticks had similar profiles with the nuts and leather, the spices in both were very different and may have been the biggest thing differentiating...

Re: Mac and DaBear's LFD NAS vs. LFD Cheroot/Icepick Review

Cheroot/Icepick

Appearance-wise, the Cheroot is a lighter brown with a wrapper with more veins. Not quite as lumpy as the NAS, but where there are, they're much more pronounced.

The initial...

Re: Mac and DaBear's LFD NAS vs. LFD Cheroot/Icepick Review

NAS

I'm not gonna bother with giving a score for appearances on these as they're cheroots, they're supposed to be ugly little sticks. The one thing I do notice with the NAS is how dark a brown it...

Mac and DaBear's LFD NAS vs. LFD Cheroot/Icepick Review

So after realizing that Mac and I both should have one each of both the LFD NAS and Cheroot/Icepick thanks to a bomb I hit him with awhile back, and me getting an NAS from him through the HTF TAW, I...

Re: 2014 Tatuaje Black CG in the Jar

I've been smoking from the jars we received, not the bundles(which we were supposed to receive, but then Pete of course pulled them from everyone but NHC). I may smoke one more for breakfast...

Re: 2014 Tatuaje Black CG in the Jar

Well I've smoked two more since then with no wrapper issues which is a major positive, but they're still a touch green to me yet.

The jar seems to be made of just some regular old plastic, not...

Re: New Pipe Smoker With A Question? Ask an Old Fart

Flake tobaccos are whole leaves stacked on top of eachother and pressed then cut into thin slices, these slices can either be folded and stuffed into your pipe or rubbed out and broken apart and then...

Re: New Pipe Smoker With A Question? Ask an Old Fart

Only if the pipe is getting too hot. Typically when you get started it takes awhile to get used to the cadence so the baccy will go out fairly often. You'll eventually get used to it, but it takes...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Woodford is always a good starting point. Great bang for the buck and a good starter bourbon. Maker's is also handy to have around, especially since its so versatile and can be used in a number of...

Re: 2014 Tatuaje Black CG in the Jar

I'm halfway through my second. I have to say I'm rather disappointed in these. They're pretty darn green, which ain't a good thing, but something that can be worked with, the jars are clearly not...

New Johnny Foreigner album, You Can Do Better, came out yesterday, so I've been rocking out to it while waiting on my preordered CD and swag kit to clear customs

Re: Show your latest NC purchase III!

Glad they got in safe Kevin. Those Rex are tasty little sticks. And while I know the exact blend of the Promise, all I'm cleared by the boss man to say is it uses "a full bodied spicy wrapper, and...

Re: Litto Gomez Small Batch question

Haven't had the first 3 editions, but I'd probably rank the ones I've had 5 > 4oscuro > 4. The 4s would have beat the 4 oscuros if they hadn't completely lost all spice and tons of flavor within 6...
