Re: Does an appointment mean nothing anymore

I think more people have to make it known that it is unacceptable. I was waiting for a doctor for 30 minutes and asked the receptionist when I could expect to be seen. She couldn't even tell me. I...

Re: How Do You Grill Your Burgers?

Form paties out of ground chuck with indents in the middle so they don't ball up, sprinkle with black pepper and garlic powder (not salt - it pulls moisture out of the meat), grill until just about...

Re: Favorite Summer Beer............

I'm a big fan of Bells Oberon, though this thread is giving me a nice list of ones to try. :tu

Re: Antietam vs Montegue Cabinet

That's why they stay in the closet :tu Though I'm sure I'll get a nice display piece one day.

Re: CAO Sopranos Boss

I've never had any construction problems with these - some inconsistency flavor-wise, which makes me agree they were overpriced - but I still like them.

Re: Need some advice

Just like everything else in this hobby. I don't actually have first hand experience with long term aging - I've only been smoking for a few years and my cooler has 65% beads in it.

Re: Need some advice

My understanding is that 70% is actually ideal for long term aging. Storing them at a lower RH slows down the process.

Re: Weeds

I like it too, but I thought the first couple seasons were better - they were funnier and not as dark. I'm still watching, but its becoming a little too much of a drama for me.

Re: Partagas Black Label

I'm going through my second box of magnificos and, while I have to touch up the burn more regularly than with other cigars, I would say I don't have much trouble with them. I've seen others complain...

Re: Forced R & R

My dad had the same thing happen - a partial tear in the retina. They did the emergency repair and then it fully detached. He had that repaired too and everything is fine now - I tell you only to...

Re: LOST Notes

From a CNN comment:

"Fake Mom was a smoky too I believe... She quoted man in black word for word (they come, they destroy...), she ripped through the site setting fire to everything, she thanked...

Re: no more JR for BR

If I misunderstood you, I apologize, but it seems like an extreme reaction to the lack of a tracking number when they took care of the initial complaint and even threw in a free 12 pack.

Re: Any fans of HBO's "The Wire" ?

My wife and I just finished it a few months ago. We rented all the dvds through netflix. It was a great show. It was intense too - if we watched it before bed, I'd frequently dream about it.

Re: Good nonalcoholic drink pairing

I've really been enjoying IBC diet rootbeer with my smokes when it's been too early to crack into the booze. It has been great with several different smokes.

Re: LOST Notes

I think Sawyer's affirmative act made the detonation and possible death of all the candidates possible. Smokey couldn't do it on his own - the bomb would have fizzled like the dynamite in the cave. ...

Re: Single Malt Scotch

Yeah I said it! I think the Macallan has more body too. But they are both great scotches in my book.

Thanks for the suggestion on the 21. I'll have to give that a try. :tu

Re: Single Malt Scotch

When I first started drinking scotch, I didn't like Glenfiddich at all. Then my sister-in-law gave me a sampler for Christmas with the 12, 15 and 18. I was pleasantly surprised with them all, but...

Re: Chimay

My local cigar bar has the blue and the red. I've only tried the blue and liked it, but I'll have to give the red a try next time I'm in.

Re: New use for coolidor?

And people worry about the plastic taste an unwashed new cooler can impart on cigars...this takes it to a whole new level - "does this have a hint of formaldehyde to you?" :D

Re: Cigar smoking and Life Insurance premiums.

It wasn't clear to me that you were being sarcastic. It's one of the weaknesses of the written word at times. I was merely trying to shed light on an apparently overlooked point.

Re: Cigar smoking and Life Insurance premiums.

Presumably the insurance is purchased to protect your loved ones who aren't dead - the company will deny their claim on the policy and and then they'll have to try to sue the agent.

Re: Cigar smoking and Life Insurance premiums.

Most of the time the agents are considered to be independent agents, meaning that they are working for you, not the insurance company, when they submit your application. That means that the...

Re: Okay, not trying to be "snobby", but...

Seems to me the effect is the same at this point - he said he emailed them a problem and that they responded in such a manner to "render him speechless". The obvious implication is that Ashton went...
