60/65/70?
For humidity beads, I started with 70% RH, then switched to 65, and last week switched to 60. Still waiting to see how I like the 60. Just curious if anyone else has tried multiple different levels...

Re: 65% Heartfelt beads leave my humidor at 72%
I think I've determined that one humidor was leaky and the Tupperwares just need more time to equilibrate down to the lower humidity since I started blow drying the beads. I switched all of my...

Re: 65% Heartfelt beads leave my humidor at 72%
Not sure what the RH was before I got the new beads. I suspect you're right about waiting longer to let the cigars dry out more.
I have tested for leaks, and even placed them into a tightly...

Re: 65% Heartfelt beads leave my humidor at 72%
So I have been blow drying the beads for several weeks now to dry them mostly out. For some reason, the humidity has actually gone up to 74% in my humidor. I've tested the same beads in a tightly...

Re: 65% Heartfelt beads leave my humidor at 72%
Great suggestion. Will do. And it very well might be the humidor leaking.
Regardless of the source of the problem, once I get the problem fixed, any idea how long it will take for the cigars to...

65% Heartfelt beads leave my humidor at 72%
I have been using the 65% heartfelt beads (largest tube, more than enough for my 100-count desktop) for about a year now and only recently bought a digital hygrometer (Caliber IV). The hygrometer...

Re: OK, I've deciced, this is my favorite
The MK is currently one of my favorites. I've also tried the Eperney, and while I liked it, it is certainly not among my favorites. I've waiting to try a CG4 that's reating in the humi. Can anyone...

Lighting technique
It seems everyone is agreed on the need to toast the foot while lighting up but it seems there are at least two camps on how much toasting one should do before puffing. On the one hand, a lot of...

Re: Uneven burn issues in San Francisco
Good to know. I suspect I will not be adding any water to mine for a long time either. And I'm going to try to keep them around 80% dry as you do. I think that should help.
The hygrometer is got...

Re: Porch Dweller's Wineador Progress
Nice. I grew concerned with the heat in my apartment and got a wine fridge a couple months ago. I actually just stuck my 2 desktop humidors and 3 medium size Tupperwares directly into the fridge. It...

Smaller ring gauges = less flavor complexity?
I've discovered that I prefer smaller ring gauge cigars. My ideal size is the classic corona and I have been enjoying some lanceros recently. They just seem to burn more evenly and have a better...

Montecristo #2 - thanks for the info. If you're not having any issues, it must be something I'm doing, and likely has to do with the humidor, as I have reason to believe my cigars were...

mahtofire14 and Porch Dweller - thanks for your thoughts.
Porch Dweller - You pretty well summed up my problem. It seems to be the wrapper that doesn't burn straight and requires semi-regular...

This is only the second Lancero I have tried, but realizing that I like smaller ring gauges, I have started trying to throw some Lanceros into the mix. I smoked the Oliva V in the Torpedo size...

Uneven burn issues in San Francisco
Just got into cigars at the beginning of this year and now I'm totally obsessed. I've had consistent uneven burn issues with almost all of my cigars, even though I am using 65% Heartfelt beads, take...
