I never drink alcohol with a cigar. It increases absorption of unpleasant chemicals.

It was the then Surgeon- General of the US who found no statistical difference in mortality between 1/2 cigars a week and no cigars.

I use a brown paper gummed tape on the cigar to prevent lip contact. Churchill used a similar tape which he called bellybando. Worked for him and works for me.
