That sucks. I have an after-market JVC KW-XR810 and had no issues when I switched to the 5. Everything still works the same as before. I can connect through the sync cable or via Bluetooth.

I really like it.
Found it for $33 on Cigar Monster a few years ago.

If you have unlimited data with AT&T and use the Hotspot from your phone you will lose the unlimited data and go to one of the tiered options.

All depends on how much protection you need.
My original iPad has an Otterbox case. It gets used mostly by my 4-year old. She was 2 when we got it and it wouldn't have survived without the case....
