Clogged Lighters

I have recently had about 4 torches stop working. Two xikars, a Ronson and a Lotus. I am not using junk butane (it’s highly filtered) but it’s not xikar butane. My spark on all four is good but it sounds like the gas just isn’t flowing well enough or at all. Is there a way to unclog these or are they doomed?

Sometimes an air compressor is needed to blow out the dirt. I used to use the high pressure one at my FD job designed to fill out air pack bottles, but 5000 p.s.i. was a little on the overkill side.

I use the can of butane and set it on the jets and give it a couple blasts, let it dry they try it again. Also like was said make sure you bleed it!

Thanks guys. I have tried bleeding them. And it hasn’t helped much. I’ll bring them to work and use our compressor and see it that’s It.

You can also try carborator or electrical contact cleaner.

Tried some of the tips you guys gave me and still no luck. It’s like the butane isnt even getting into the tank on some of them. Odd. Never had that problem before.

I have had several lighters where the plug (valve for adjusting flow) gets stuck and will not open or comes free from the screw to adjust and will not allow flow back through the lighter. That has killed probably 1/2 a dozen over the years for me.

I've Also Heard From My Tobacconist That The Tubing Inside The Lighter Gets Loose Or Disconnected. No Easy Way To Repair That. I Would Toss It & Use Another. The Last Time I Used Vector's "Lifetime Warranty", I Paid $15 To Ship It Back To Them And They Charged $14 Shipping Fee To Return It! A New Lighter Cost The Same! I Had A Problem With A Jetline Lighter That Wouldn't Ignite. Sent An E-mail To The Company. They Told Me The Lighter Was Discontinued In 2016, But They Would Send Me A Comparable Lighter At No Charge! Jetline Only In The Future For Me!:D:tu

Well poop. That sucks but I agree, I think these are toasted. Some of my favorite torches too. Ordered a four pack of Ronsons. Those things have always been good and at $28 for four I won't be too sad when they die either.
