Meadowlark Lemon Dead At 83
 

Former Globetrotter great, clown prince of basketball, and one of the two world-famous hoop stars out of Wilmington NC, Meadowlark Lemon died Sunday in Scottsdale AZ. Sing a few bars of Sweet Georgia Brown for him today.

RIP- I had the great honor of meeting him way back in the 70s when the Globetrotters were playing in Rome and were invited to the Ambassador's residence. They had two seven footers then, and wow- it was something looking up at them. I still have pix and autographs somewhere. Meadowlark was an outspoken Christian, I know he is in a better place now!
