Hey guys and gals:

I am in South Florida, visiting the wife's family. I am staying in the Coral Springs/Pompano Beach area. Not really familiar with it, but I have seen the street names Sample Road and University Boulevard, if that helps with placement.

Anybody want to recommend a cigar shop I should check out?

I am already well familiar with Kris Basso and Tobacco World.

Here are a couple of shops in Coral you can check out:

This is on Sample, about 3/4 mile west of Sample and University on the north side of the street. Small shop, decent selection and prices.

This one is a bit further from Sample and University. Nice shop, usually has some wine open for tasting (nice selection of wines and cigars)

I use to live on Royal Palm and we use to get Pizza from a place over on Sample called "Pizza Time." This was as close to a New York slice you would get anywhere I've been down there. They were New York Italians that cooked fantastic. The Scungelli was the bestest.

Thanks for this recommendation. I went there today and was able to pick up 2 sticks of Opus X and a RP Olde World Reserve for what I thought were fair prices. I didn't really get to talk to the guy behind the counter much, as we were in a bit of a hurry, but we did feel welcome, and he was friendly during our transaction.

DUDE!!!

We are doing a herf on the road tomorrow.

Ji (Khubli) is in town.
We are meeting up in the morning tomorrow to go to the cigar factories.
From there, Key Largo to Island Smoke shop with Madurofan and some fish sandwiches, rum runners, key lime pie, cigars and laughs.

Totally wish I could bro, but we go back to Orlando tomorrow. Wife has to be at work by noon, so we're leaving early in the AM.

This is why I can't wait to get back. I'll be at least passing through to my next (and final assignment)with the Big Blue in July so hopefully I can hook up with you guys. I am really trying to get stationed in Tampa and I'll find out in about 20 days where I am headed.

P.S. I am very happy to hear you enjoyed the food and it is still quality. It has been about 10 years since I last ate at Pizza Time A stupid name IMO. Crap I am rambling again...
