Extreme makeover - Cherrywood edition
So I picked this pipe up in a lot on the 'Bay.
Nasty looking thing, the stem not salvageable, with a hole. Had been melted by previous attempts to buff. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psb2e23d2c.jpg http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...ps15aef294.jpg So I decided to have a go at an acrylic stem. The little Unimat hasn't been used in years, but still worked OK. (need a 4-jaw chuck, and soon!) http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psb1a9589b.jpg http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd335c7e.jpg Decided to bend the stem. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6f7ee9e6.jpg I think it needs a gold band or spacer to break the colour transition, but I like how it came out. |

Looks great brother. The flat bottom is cool so you don't need a stand.

It doesn't need a ring or spacer, it's perfect the way it is. :tu

Re: Extreme makeover - Cherrywood edition
Is this a particular brand or style of pipe? I like the flat bottom.

The style is called a "cherrywood" - although made of briar. Go figure. I'll keep my eyes open for a nice example for you.... |
Re: Extreme makeover - Cherrywood edition
Ok I appreciate it. I like how you can just sit it down.
